DETAILS
illum is one of the largest department stores in scandinavia and enjoys a revered brand reputation that compares to macy's in the united states or harrods in the u.k.
with only four days from the first meeting to the actual shoot date, this set construction was built within an existing location.
the narrow hallway needed to feel confining yet uncluttered. in the true spirit of a present-day bachelor pad, the décor needed to be simple and modern underscored by dramatic lighting from above; a few accents: a magnificent, incandescent floor lamp, a hanging piece of art whose meaning is open to multiple interpretations, while a couch (representing the stage for the young man's ambitions) waits attentively in the background.
inspirations for the hallway included the coen brother's barton fink.
director stevan treshow is very well-prepared and methodical in his approach. his focus and determination are admirable and he has the kind of sly humour and charisma that inspires those around him. he might one day become denmark’s first david fincher, so to speak. his work takes him all over europe and the united states.
the spot is also known as forplay in danish and was broadcast throughout scandinavia.
