OPEN takes its departure point as an exploration of the creative process, using examples of christian svanes kolding's work in film and photography to illustrate how ideas evolve from inspiration to realisation.

a meditation on transitions and movement, OPEN is about an attitude that is receptive to inspiration and interpretation.

some of the images are taken directly from films while others are stand-alone works, created exclusively as still photographs or illustrations. the images represent various phases of the evolution of an idea, which frequently are not easily apparent within the final cut.

there are also behind the scenes images from a wide variety of projects, both from his work as a director as well as a production designer. these include photographs, sketches, conceptual illustrations and snapshots.
